The Santa Ynez Valley Concert series will present its second annual Young Artist Showcase, 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at St Mark’s in the Valley Church, 901 Nojoqui Ave., Los Olivos.

The free concert will feature talented elementary to high school students from Santa Barbara County who are recommended by their respective teachers for this special honor. This year spotlights solo performances from young guitarists and pianists.

“Music Education is at the forefront of the mission of the Santa Ynez Valley Concert Series,” said Robert Cassidy, artistic director. “I am thrilled that we have so many participants this year. Music is alive and living in Santa Barbara County.”

The honored students’ teachers include: Vahid and Kathryn Imani from Song in My Heart Studios in Solvang; Deborah Mele from Santa Barbara; Alan Boehmer from Los Osos; Dr. Pascal Solomon from Santa Barbara; Lynne Garrett from Santa Maria; and Dr. Natalia Kislenko from Santa Barbara.
