The Santa Barbara Zoo will host a new holiday celebration called ZooLights, Nov. 3-Jan. 15. Visitors can see the zoo in a whole new light as it transforms into a winter wonderland with larger-than-life-size animal and wildlife installations that will illuminate not just the zoo but also the community’s holiday spirit.

Starting Nov. 3, the immersive holiday experience will feature thousands of handcrafted silk-covered lanterns aglow with more than 50,000 LED bulbs. The giant lanterns represent animals and nature scenes of wild places from around the world.

Visitors can also enjoy interactive areas, take photos with Santa (on select dates), and enjoy wintry snacks and drinks for purchase.

ZooLights will be open 4:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $22/adult and $20/child (ages 2-12); zoo members get a $2 discound. Ticket prices vary by day. Buy tickets online here.
