A small plane’s landing-gear mishap caused a shutdown of the main runway at the Santa Barbara Airport on Wednesday.

The incident involving a single-engine Beech C24R occurred at about 9:40 a.m.

The plane’s left landing gear didn’t deploy correctly as the aircraft touched down from the west on Runway 7, according to airport spokeswoman Angi Daus.

“There were no injuries or major impacts, but it took about one-and-a-half hours to get the gear equipment retracted so that the aircraft could be towed off the runway,” Daus said.

During that time, the runway was out of service.

“The timing was fortunate because it didn’t impact any commercial flights directly, but it did cause slight delays in a couple departures,” Daus told Noozhawk.

The plane is registered to Above All Aviation, a flight school at the airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
