A 28-year-old Lompoc man suspected of shooting two men at a downtown Santa Barbara bar late last week was expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court in Santa Barbara.

The shooting happened at Sandbar, 514 State St., and injured two men.

The suspected shooter, Adam Zaragoza Mujia, was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call at about 12:14 a.m. Friday reporting gunshots at Sandbar. Officers arrived on scene to find the two men injured and Zaragoza Mujia detained by bar security staff, according to police.

One victim sustained minor injuries while the other underwent surgery for the wounds he received.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint Tuesday and charged Zaragoza Mujia with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and having a concealed firearm on his person.

He also faces special allegations of intentional discharge of a firearm, two counts of causing great bodily injury, and aggravating factors due to the injuries caused.

He remained in jail custody Tuesday afternoon with bail set at $1 million.
