Performing and Visual Arts Camp (PVAC) and the Santa Barbara School of Performing Arts (SOPA) will present “Once Upon A One More Time,” their 2026 summer production, July 31 and Aug. 1-2, in Jo Ann Caines Theatre at La Cumbre Jr. High School, 2255 Modoc Road, Santa Barbara.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. July 31, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 1, and 2 p.m. Aug. 2.

“Once Upon A One More Time” turns favorite fairy tales upside down with a clever twist, organizers said.

When a fairy godmother goes rogue and plops copies of “The Feminine Mystique” in the laps of classic heroines, the damsels embark on a quest to rewrite their stories to redefine “happily ever after.” 

Powered by the Princess of Pop, the show weaves 23 Britney Spears smash singles, such as “Crazy,” “Oops! I Did it Again,” “Circus,” “Lucky,” and “Toxic,” into a big modern musical dance party.

Director Andrew Nunez, musical ddirector Dauri Kennedy, and choreography director Karyn Laver (Dance Network), guide the students (ages 10-17) in the show, the product of the PVAC & SOPA camp at La Cumbre Junior High School.
