The Picklr Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County’s newest indoor pickleball destination, in Goleta’s Fairview Shopping Center, will hold its grand opening, noon-5 p.m. May 2.
The nearly 24,000-square-foot facility will introduce a purpose-built, year-round playing experience designed for players of all skill levels, organizers said.

The opening event, which is free to attend, will include open play on six courts, a food truck, prizes, tours, giveaways, and chance to meet the Picklr SB staff.

Full club operations begin May 3, with a comprehensive schedule of reservations, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and open play, organizers said.
“Santa Barbara has an incredibly passionate and fast-growing pickleball community, and we saw a clear opportunity to deliver something special here,” said Ted Guggenheim, co-owner of The Picklr Santa Barbara.
“Our goal is to create more than just a place to play; we’re building a destination where we’ve designed many comfortably places to hang out with your friends, take the time to meet new friends and be part of a vibrant, year-round pickleball community,” he said.
“The Picklr Santa Barbara’s local owners have transformed the former Bed Bath & Beyond space into a state-of-the-art indoor pickleball facility featuring seven professional-grade courts, including championship-sized courts, all built with proprietary outdoor-style surfacing used by the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) and Major League Pickleball (MLP),” organizers said.
“Each court is acoustically engineered to enhance play and reduce noise, creating a premium environment for both recreational and competitive players,” they said.
Founder memberships opened March 18, and sold out the lowest tier of 150 memberships ($179/month) in 90 minutes, the company reports.
The second tier of 250 Founder Memberships ($197/month) are available until the May 2 Grand Opening, when the Unlimited Play memberships will become $225/month.
The memberships provide early adopters with lifetime discounted pricing and full access to the club’s all-inclusive benefits, including unlimited play, court reservations, leagues and tournaments, clinics, guest passes, and nationwide access across all Picklr locations, according to the company.
The club also offers a lounge and community space, locker rooms with showers, pro shop, dedicated warm-up and training areas, youth development programs, summer camps, charity tournaments, corporate events, and private facility rentals.
