The nine-member UCSB Dance Company will present Refractions: Voices in Light & Dark, a concert of contemporary dance, enhanced by lighting projections, video, and visual narratives, 7:30 p.m., March 6-8 and 2 p.m. March 8 in UCSB’s Hatlen Theater.

“This diverse program, Refractions: Voices in Light & Dark, reflects the artistic vision of our contemporary choreographers through the prisms of light, dark, and above all, abounding movement,” the Dance Company said.

The UCSB Dance Company, a pre-professional dance company, offers a broad spectrum of contemporary dance in this concert. Seven choreographers, faculty and guests, will present insightful, provoking, and honest works of dance.

Premieres by Christina McCarthy, Delila Moseley, and Meredith Ventura take the stage alongside re-staging of choreography by Sky Pasqual, Megha Ramachandran, Jenna Turner, and Brandon Whited.

Lighting design for the concert is by Michael Klaers. Many of the pieces incorporate projected images, video, or special effects by Siddharth Chattorje.

Tickets are $13-$18. For more, visit https://www.theaterdance.ucsb.edu/.
