The United Boys & Girls Clubs has restarted the College & Career Bound program, a dedicated college and career readiness initiative designed to ensure local high school students are equipped with the tools, skills, and plans they need to excel beyond graduation.

With a focus on individual growth and future planning, the program has already enrolled nearly 40 teen members who are actively participating in college tours, career fairs, and a range of activities aimed at setting them up for long-term success.

The College & Career Bound program emphasizes a comprehensive approach to post-high school preparation by offering daily academic support, college pathway activities, career exploration, and social-emotional guidance.

Each participant is paired with a case manager who provides personalized support, enabling students to create customized, realistic pathways that align with their unique interests — whether they envision attending college, entering a trade, or joining the military.

“At the heart of this program is a commitment to individualized support for each student, ensuring they graduate with both confidence and a clear plan for what comes next,” said Manny Murilo, College & Career Bound Program coordinator.

“Our members not only gain knowledge and resources through workshops and activities, but they also build essential skills that prepare them for college, careers, or any path they choose after high school,” Murilo said.

Since its relaunch, College & Career Bound has been active in introducing students to a variety of future possibilities through college campus tours and hands-on experiences at career fairs, helping participants envision and create concrete steps toward their goals.
