The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will host the second Date Night at the Plaza, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Machado Plaza, 224 W. Chapel St. 

The 18-and-older event offers couples a relaxing experience, complete with pre-set picnic areas beneath the plaza lights and evening sky.

Guests will enjoy an assortment of wines, provided by Hancock Winery, for ages 21 and older, along with charcuterie platters, games, and a photo booth to capture memories. Ila Malloy of San Luis Obispo will entertain with live acoustic music.

Attendees may also participate in the interactive Paint Your Starry Night wall, where they can contribute brushstrokes to a community art piece inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic work.

With thoughtful touches, cozy seating, and entertainment designed to inspire connection, Date Night at Machado Plaza creates the perfect setting for couples to unwind and share quality time together, the city said.

Tickets are $40 per couple and can be purchased at www.santamariaatplay.org. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required.

Event parking is available around the park and at the nearby Town Center West, 142 E. Town Center Drive.
