Authorities on Tuesday released the name of the motorcyclist who was fatally injured in a crash in the Santa Ynez Valley over the weekend.
The victim was Christopher Stewart, 36, of Santa Ynez, according to the Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday to the crash scene on the 3000 block of Canada Este Road.
Stewart was headed north when his 2016 Harley Davidson veered off the west side of the roadway and slammed into a tree, according to Officer Arshdeep Dhanda of the California Highway Patrol.
Stewart reportedly was declared dead at the scene.
