The Down Syndrome Association of Santa Barbara County (DSASBC) is seeking nominations for this year’s Extraordinary Educator Award, which will be presented at the 14th Annual Hoedown 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum.
“The annual award is given to the best of the best that work with our disability community,” the Down Syndrome Association said.

The evening includes a barbecue dinner; dancing to live music from Dusty Jugz aka The Rincons; a silent auction; and activities for kids.
Tickets for the Annual Hoedown are available at DSASBC.org and at the door. Ticket prices are $25 adults, $10 kids, which covers dinner and activities.
Past recipients of the Extraordinary Educator Award include Alpha Resource Center’s Buffy Grenier, Kellogg School’s Claudia Watters, Peabody Charter School’s Danelle Hurtado.
