American Legion Auxiliary Post 534 in Orcutt invites community members to join them in welcoming Project Hero 2024 Riders, who will be coming through Old Orcutt during their ride from Pismo Beach to Solvang on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The auxiliary expects 49 riders plus crew and volunteers to arrive in Old Orcutt between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., escorted from Pismo to Orcutt by the American Legion Riders of Post 534.

Participants in the annual event will be stopping at the Old Orcutt American Legion for lunch provided by auxiliary members.

“Last year as the riders came into Orcutt, we had several people on the side of the road waving American flags and welcoming these heroes to our community,” said Libby Walling of American Legion Auxiliary Post 534.

“We are hoping to have an even larger crowd welcoming the riders this year,” she said. “We want to have a sea of people in red, white, and blue lining Clark Avenue.”
