Children’s Resource & Referral of Santa Barbara County (CRR) will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its WINGS Infant Center, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12 at 2861 Airpark Drive, Santa Maria.
The WINGS Infant Center represents “a significant expansion of high-quality, inclusive early care for the community’s youngest children,” CRR officials said.
The ribbon cutting will be at 4 p.m. in partnership with the Santa Maria Valley Chamber.
The WINGS Infant Center is designed to serve infants with an emphasis on inclusion, relationship-based care, and whole-child development, aligning with best practices in early learning and brain development, CRR said.
“This is more than a new classroom. It is a commitment,” said CRR leaders. “A commitment to families who need access. To children who deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated from their earliest days. And to a community that understands that strong beginnings shape lifelong outcomes.”
The opening of the WINGS Infant Center represents a strategic response to the growing demand for infant care, particularly for working families, low-income households, and those navigating foster care and other complex life circumstances, CRR reports.
By expanding capacity for infants ages six weeks to two years, CRR is working to close critical gaps in access while elevating the standard of care across Santa Barbara County.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility, and talk to community partners.
