The Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board, in partnership with the Santa Maria Valley Chamber, is offering two Job Readiness workshops in preparation for the 2024 Business Expo and Job Fair.

Both the workshops and the Business Expo and Job Fair are free to attend.

The Job Fair will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at the Radisson Hotel in Santa Maria.

The workshops will be June 10, with online and in-person options, both at America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), 1410 S. Broadway, Santa Maria.

The first will focus on how to build an effective resume, cover letter and thank you letter, 2-3 p.m. The second workshop will offer information and assistance on Job Fair success and follow-up techniques, 4-5 p.m.

The Business Expo and Job Fair provides businesses, job seekers and local community members in the Santa Maria Valley with networking opportunities.

The Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board welcomes all interested attendees to the workshops, regardless if they are attending the 2024 Business Expo.

“Our job readiness workshops are designed to equip job seekers with the essential skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market,” said Luis Servin, executive director of The Workforce Development Board.

“By attending these workshops, participants will gain valuable insights into resume writing, interview techniques, and professional networking, all of which are crucial for securing employment,” he said.

“We are committed to empowering individuals with the tools they need to achieve their career goals and thrive in their chosen fields,” Servin said.
