From pumpkin plunges to trunk-or-treats, the Channel Islands YMCA is hosting a series of spooky Halloween events aimed at a safe, fun, family-friendly holiday in Santa Barbara County.
“Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year for children, but we also know that parents want to feel confident their kids are celebrating in safe spaces,” said Margo Byrne, CEO/president of the Channel Islands YMCA.
“That’s why we’re proud to provide welcoming, family-oriented events that allow everyone to enjoy the fun of the season without worry,” she said.
Families are invited to join in the festive spirit at the following community events:
• Pumpkin Plunge – 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA.
Kids can splash in the pool to find floating pumpkins, enjoy games, and celebrate fall in a supervised aquatic setting.
• Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat – 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at Santa Barbara Family YMCA. Bring your best costumes and enjoy an afternoon filled with pumpkin decorating and games.
• Trunk-or-Treat – 3 p.m. Oct. 30 at Montecito Family YMCA
. End the month with a classic YMCA Trunk-or-Treat. Families can visit festively decorated vehicles, collect treats, and make Halloween memories in a safe, family-friendly space.
The YMCA’s fall events encourage families to spend time together and create lasting traditions rooted in health, joy and belonging, organizers said.
All events are open to the public; find details and registration links at www.ciymca.org/events.
