UCSB Arts & Lectures will open its intimate Hear & Now series with piano prodigy Alexander Malofeev, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Hahn Hall, Music Academy of the West.

Russian pianist Malofeev came to international prominence a decade ago when he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians at age 13.
