The Theatre Group at SBCC will continue its 80th season with the classic romantic comedy “Arms and the Man” by George Bernard Shaw, Oct. 8-25 in the Garvin Theatre.
Directed by Jonathan Fox, the production is set during the 1885 Serbo-Bulgarian war.

“Arms and the Man” is a romantic comedy that follows Raina Petkoff as she chooses between her fiancé, the rather dense but dashingly handsome war hero Sergius Saranoff, and a more battle-scarred but charismatic mercenary from the opposing army, Capt. Bluntschli.
Nobel literature winner, Irish playwright Shaw, best known for his play “Pygmalion” on which “My Fair Lady” is based, creates a world in which, with a little help from doting mothers, clever disguises and a fondness for chocolate, love can truly conquer all.
“Arms and the Man” will feature Clayton Barry, Leesa Beck, Blake Benlan, Charlotte Hecker, Matthew Tavianini, Nik Valinsky, and Isabel Watson.
Performances are Oct. 8-25, 2025 in the Garvin Theatre on SBCC’s West Campus, 900 block of Cliff Drive.
