One of the South Coast’s most popular destinations for family fun has completed its corporate transformation.

Zodo’s, as it was known to millennials, and prior to that as Orchid Bowl for Gen Xers, is now Bowlero in Goleta.

Although Bowlero quietly acquired the bowling alley and restaurant in 2021, the full rebranding of the company wasn’t complete until recently. Now, the Bowlero signs are everywhere — along with a new sparkle and dazzle on the interior.

“Located at 5925 Calle Real, Zodo’s will continue to bring the best in bowling, fun, and league play to the Santa Barbara community, while introducing new offers and exclusive promotions from Bowlero,” a press release announcing the acquisition states. “Totaling over 24,000 square feet, Zodo’s is equipped with 24 lanes, a full-service bar and lounge area, and an interactive arcade.”

Bowlero Corp, according to its corporate website, is “the world leader in bowling entertainment.”

Bowlero owns more than 40 bowling locations in California.

The company has aggressively grown through acquisitions over the past few years, and recently announced that it is trading on the New York Stock Exchange, through a merger with Isos Acquisition Corporation, a blank check company that was “formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses.”

Bowlero, which owns the Professional Bowlers Association, has bowling centers in “highly attractive markets” across North America, with 286 in the U.S., seven in Mexico, two in Canada, and another 26 signed or under a letter of intent, according to a news release.

More than 70% of the firm’s revenue is generated in the top 25 metropolitan areas of North America or adjacent areas.

According to an online booking attempt, one lane for a up to 6 people during the daytime costs $173 for 2.5 hours, including shoe rentals.

For a “prime time” a lane for two people on a Saturday night costs $268, including shoe rentals.

As of Wednesday, the arcade was still under construction.

New Montecito Gallery

The Waterhouse Gallery is celebrating the opening of its second location from 3 to 6 pm, Saturday.

“Opening Saturday, our second location, a wall of exquisite figurative paintings by today’s master’s,” the company posted on Instagram.

The new gallery is at 1187 Coast Village Road, next to Ca’ Dario in Montecito.

Bead Shop Re-Opens

Beads is re-opening as Peacock Beads.

The owners are planning a grand opening from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at 12 E. Cota St. in Santa Barbara.

“March 16, 2022, was my first visit to Santa Barbara’s Beads store,” the company wrote on its website. “What a beauty journey this has been with the Nelsons… two of the loveliest people!! The 38 year old Beads business was purchased by Chris and Lindsy Sexton.  Barbara and Andy are loving retirement in Oregon. They do miss the sun!! A bit over a year later, my daughter and I have relocated and reopened Beads as Peacock Beads, LLC.”
