The Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) invites community members to meet with local writers and illustrators as they share their works at the 70th annual Breakfast with the Authors, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 in the SBCEO auditorium, 4400 Cathedral Oaks Road, Santa Barbara.

Breakfast with the Authors offers an opportunity to meet with local children’s book authors and illustrators, and hear them talk about their craft, all while enjoying breakfast. Students (grades 4-12), parents, teachers, coordinators, librarians, and community members are welcome to attend.

Authors and illustrators on tap to participate are: Nikki Barthelmess, Mike Bender, James Burks, Anita Perez Ferguson, Joan Bransfield Graham, Mary Penney Hershey, Bonnie Lady Lee, Andrea J. Loney, Alexis O’Neill, Greg Trine, Henry Turner, and Lee Wardlaw.

Raffle prizes are planned throughout the event, and participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite literary character or author. Chaucer’s Books will be selling the authors’ books on site, and there will be opportunities for book signings.
