Explore Ecology is calling on volunteers to help out with its first fall beach cleanup, 10 am.-noon Sunday, Oct. 11, at Arroyo Burro Beach.

Participants should meet outside the Watershed Resource Center (the blue building) to sign in and pick up cleanup supplies if needed.

From there they can head to the beach, the parking lot, or nearby trails to search for trash.

While at the event, volunteers can visit the Watershed Resource Center, open 10 a.m.-noon to learn how their actions on land affect the health of local waterways.

Community service hours are available for this volunteer opportunity. No RSVP is necessary. Learn more here.

“Even a short cleanup helps keep microplastics and litter out of the ocean,” Explore Ecology said.
