The event will focus on the CCP Dual Language Early Childhood Education programming for 2024-25.

“First and foremost, we emphasize creating a supportive and inclusive environment for Early Childhood Education that meets every child’s needs to grow and play,” said Teresa Alvarez, executive director of Carpinteria Children’s Project.

“In their very first chances for socialization and first glimpses at academic instruction, our students are empowered by learning in both English and Spanish. It’s a baby step toward the big rewards of a multilingual future,” she said.

Parents exploring preschool options for the 2024-25 school year can meet CCP staff and learn about its emphasis on social-emotional development and age-appropriate Dual Language Immersion.

“Those who are thinking ahead to kindergarten get an early read on DLI through a year or two at our preschool,” Alvarez said. “Entering a Spanish-speaking classroom at the kindergarten level can be a big adjustment. From the ABCs to circle time on the rug, our students are hearing spoken Spanish and English and preparing for a smooth transition.”
