Community members are invited to Get Scary for Charity at the annual Thriller event Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens.

Saturday’s event, which is free to attend, is the culmination of 10 days of Thriller flash mobs happening all over town.
The Sunken Gardens program includes:
1 p.m. — Halloween make-up sessions with SBCC cosmetologists
2 p.m. — Dance Party
3 p.m. — Thriller performed by 100 World Dancers
World Dance for Humanity has hosted Santa Barbara’s Thriller since 2010 as part of a worldwide event “Thrill the World.”
Dancing zombies from Algeria, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, and throughout the USA will perform Thriller at the same moment in time, casting away inhibitions to create a spooktacular community experience.
Funds raised through event sponsors and dancer donations go to the Rwanda Education Fund, which is enabling 293 students to attend school; and the Downtown & Westside Boys and Girls Clubs, so low-income children in the Santa Barbara community can take part in after-school activities.
World Dance offers low-cost classes six days a week and provides humanitarian aid year-round – volunteering locally, working with vulnerable communities in Rwanda, and bringing emergency aid to World Dance partners in Ukraine.
