Four people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash between Lompoc and Vandenberg Space Force Base.
At 5 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a crash on Highway 1 near the Santa Lucia Canyon Road intersection, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
Two vehicles collided, leaving a minor female in critical condition, Safechuck added. The girl, whose age wasn’t released, was transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
Three adults with moderate to major injures also were taken by two ambulances to Marian Regional Medical Center, Safechuck added.
Highway 1 was closed in both directions for a time due to the crash and investigation.
Northbound traffic was flowing with vehicles using the shoulder while southbound drivers were diverted onto Santa Lucia Canyon Road, according to emergency dispatch reports.
California Highway Patrol officers from the Buellton area were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
