Allan Hancock College is hosting two events — the annual Turkey Giveaway and Taste of Home Thanksgiving meal — to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on Nov. 21 and 22.

The college will hold the Turkey Giveaway, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 21 on the Santa Maria campus, Building B. This is the 15th year that the college’s CARE program has collected donations to provide turkeys and bags of fixings for a full Thanksgiving meal to Hancock students who are single parents.

The meals are being provided to single-parent students in the EOPS, NextUp, CalWORKs, Rising Scholars, Guardian Scholars, AIM to Dream, CAN/TRIO, Veterans, LAP, Noncredit Counseling and Basic Needs programs.

Hancock’s Associated Student Body Government will offer the Taste of Home Thanksgiving meal, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Mechanics Bank Student Center (building G) on the Santa Maria campus. Hancock students can stop by and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with their fellow Bulldogs.
