The talent and creativity of students enrolled in the fine arts program at Allan Hancock College are on display through May 12 in the college’s annual fine arts student art exhibition. The show features a variety of artwork, displayed at the Ann Foxworthy Gallery on Hancock’s Santa Maria campus.
The exhibit marks participating students’ first art show since returning to in-person classes in the fall of 2021. The display features paintings, drawings, graphic design, sculpture, photography, and digital media in representational and abstract forms. Also included are monologues and pop-up performances.
“The works that this talented and unique group of students created are engaging and delightful,” said Laura-Susan Thomas, Ann Foxworthy Gallery director. “They are expressing themselves in some incredible and creative ways in this exhibition.”
The gallery will host a reception featuring the show’s student-artists, which will also include a special performance by students in Hancock’s drama program, 4:30-6:30 p.m. April 21. The live performance by college drama students will begin at 5:10 p.m. Students, staff, and community members are invited to attend.
The Ann Foxworthy Gallery is in the Academic Resource Center, Bldg. L. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays. It is closed and available by appointment only on Fridays. The gallery is closed on weekends and holidays.
