Now that I’ve had some time to reflect on the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, like many I feel led to share my thoughts from a biblical perspective.

Yes, I’m certain my conservative views will pour out in what I write. I’m greatly saddened by his untimely demise for the sake of his family and for the future of America.

Yet I know God has control of it all.

First and foremost, Kirk was devoted and faithful to His Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

Listen to these words of Jesus as He describes the Kingdom of God in Mark 4:31-32: “It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all the garden plants with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade.”

I’m certain that Kirk understood this parable as he watched Turning Point USA grow into more than 3,500 chapters within our universities and high schools over the past 10 years.

Kirk was a visionary and knew what God was calling him to accomplish with the help of the Holy Spirit and his many faithful followers.

There has been increased resistance from liberal America as Turning Point USA has grown exponentially.

Kirk and his closest team members were obviously aware of the dangers he faced in meeting students in open forums. Yet, that is the task he knew God had called him to confront. He did it admirably.

Kirk loved America and the foundation upon which it was formed. He saw that foundation crumbling, and He understood that we desperately needed to get back to placing God in His rightful place overseeing our future government affairs.

There’s an evil spiritual dimension that has been gradually gaining a foothold and replacing God’s Word in all facets of our lives.

Turning Point USA has faced the enemy in our schools and, one by one, has been bringing our young men and women out of the cesspool of indoctrination.

They are bringing many to a proper understanding of God and Country and building a dynamic base of young patriots.

n my own feeble way, much of what I write hopefully complements their wonderful work.

In closing, let me share how Kirk’s death has affected me.

As I close in on publishing my 500th essay, I’ve been seriously considering shutting down or at least cutting back on my writing.

But I am now rejuvenated and encouraged by the spiritual energy of our young people, and I sense God’s calling me to remain strong for another season.

To God be the glory, and may He continue to bless America!
