Community Arts Music Association (CAMA) thanks subscribers and patrons for their continuing support, and regretfully announces that, due to the ongoing health risks posed by the coronavirus pandemic, CAMA will not be able to offer a 2020/21 International Series at The Granada Theatre for what would have been the 102nd concert season.

CAMA had planned to present the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra with Nemanja Radulović making his U.S. debut.

The pandemic has made it impossible to move forward with these presentations as previously scheduled.

CAMA, Santa Barbara’s oldest arts organization, has pledged to hold subscribers’ 2019/20 subscription seating locations at The Granada Theatre in anticipation of the time when live classical music returns to local stages.

Said CAMA president Mark E. Trueblood, “Although we cannot present live concerts under the current circumstances, CAMA is committed to bringing the best in classical music to our subscribers, single-ticket buyers and community through our ongoing CAMA at Home series, which presents curated content delivered in email newsletters with links to exciting musical projects such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Sound/Stage online collection of concert films, essays, and artwork.” (Visit laphil.com/soundstage.)

CAMA is also producing original celebrity interviews with artists, including CAMA’s longtime friend and colleague, pianist Stephen Hough; and the founder of Chineke! Orchestra, string bassist Chi-Chi Nwanoku. Anyone wishing to receive digital newsletters for the CAMA at Home series should email CAMAatHome@camasb.org.

CAMA is looking at prospective engagements for the 2021/22 International Series at The Granada Theatre.

“On behalf of the CAMA Board of Directors and Emeriti, as well as our Women’s Board and staff, we hope everyone will be safe and well, and we look forward to sharing the joy of live classical music with our community once again,” said Trueblood.
