Halyn “Bloom” Carrera and Ezhelle “Elle” Dela Cruz, two Righetti High School seniors, who have impressive resumes from a variety of high school and community productions, have been accepted into PCPA’s 2025-27 Acting Conservatory Program.
With her performance of “Watch What Happens to Me,” Bloom recently won Superior Solo Musical Theatre Performance (California state Thespian Award) and will represent California at the International Thespian Festival in Indiana.
During her four years at Righetti, Bloom performed in multiple productions with three different local high schools and a district production, and twice at Disneyland.
“My experience with musical theater in high school has been not only incredible but also eye-opening to what I want my future life to look like,” she said. “I hope to build my skills through the PCPA Conservatory and turn my greatest passion into a career.”
Dela Cruz’s recent State Competition Acting Award: Competing with the Pioneer Valley acting troop, her 21 Chump Street cast received the California state Thespian Award for “Chapter Select,” a play chosen by judges to represent California at the International Thespian Festival in Indiana.
During her four years at Righetti, Dela Cruz performed in multiple productions with three local high schools, a district production and community theater, as well as twice at Disneyland.
She also performed with the “Mamma Mia” reunion cast at the 2025 Salute to Teachers to honor Elesa Carlson, former performing arts teacher of the year, at the Music Academy of the West.
“I’m so beyond grateful for the recognition of my dedication to the arts. I’ve been truly blessed with all the opportunities I’ve received in my senior year. I couldn’t have done it without all the love and support I get from every single person I’ve worked with,” Dela Cruz said.
