An Evening with The Wallflowers will take the Lobero Theatre stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, presented by Lobero LIVE and Earl Minnis Presents.

The Grammy Award-winning Wallflowers have held their ground as one of rock’s most dynamic and purposeful bands. “Exit Wounds,” the group’s latest studio offering, released in 2021 via New West Records, finds the band’s signature sound – lean, potent and entrancing – intact, even as bandleader Jakob Dylan surrounds himself with a fresh cast of musicians.

Dylan’s vision has always been the core of the Wallflower’s music. How he chooses to express that vision, however, is what makes a song a Wallflowers song. To Dylan, a band, even one with a constantly shifting lineup, is a sacred thing.

“I’ve always been a believer in collaboration, and no matter who I’m playing with I’ve always tried to include them very heavily,” he said.

“Exit Wounds” is an ode to people, individual and collective, that have — been through some stuff.

“I think everybody — no matter what side of the aisle you’re on — wherever we’re going to next, we’re all taking a lot of exit wounds with us,” Dylan said. “Nobody is the same as they were four years ago. That, to me, is what ‘Exit Wounds’ signifies.”

In 1996, The Wallflowers released their best-known and highest-selling album “Bringing Down The Horse,” which featured the Grammy Award-winning track “One Headlight.”

The group released two more critically acclaimed albums before going on hiatus. 2012 was the year The band reunited in 2012 and released their sixth album “Glad All Over.”

Nearly a decade later, The Wallflowers released “Exit Wounds,” which hit No. 3 on the Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, making it the band’s highest charting album.
