The 38th Annual California Strawberry Festival is accepting applications from individual makers of quality, handcrafted works by artists and crafters for this year’s festival, May 18-19 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Deadline to apply is Feb. 12.
The festival, which attracts more than 60,000 visitors, features dozens of different foods and beverages made from fresh strawberries.
About 150 artists and crafters from across the county showcase their works, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, children’s toys, accessories, photography, textiles, outdoor furniture, jewelry, and specialty foods.
An estimated 1.5 million strawberries will be consumed over the two-day festival. At the festival, growers from the Oxnard Plain will be selling vine-ripened strawberries in baskets and flats.
Since its inception, the nonprofit California Strawberry Festival has donated some $5 million to local charitable organizations.
Applications can be downloaded at https://castrawberryfestival.org/events-attractions/arts-crafts. Selection results will be sent to applicants by March 11.
