The Women’s Auxiliary of Music Academy of the West is seeking new members for 2021. Founded in 1954, the auxiliary is 106 members strong and offers new members the opportunity to join in the mission to support the academy.

Local members live in Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Summerland, Goleta and Los Olivos.

New members are invited to:

Network and build friendships at monthly meetings featuring live music performances from alumni, faculty, and guest artists.
Get involved with creative philanthropic projects, such as private concerts, fundraising parties, and online auctions.
Join a social group – annual luncheon, social events, summer picnic with academy fellows, and festive holiday party.
Co-lead or join committees that plan new programs and projects.
Tour the Music Academy Miraflores campus and learn about its history.

“The Women’s Auxiliary is a very active and productive group,” said auxiliary chair Meg DiNapoli. “We become friends and respected peers while supporting a wonderful cause. The auxiliary is open to all women who would like to join us.”

As the hub for volunteers at the Music Academy, auxiliary members receive preferred opportunities to:

Usher for world-class performances.
Participate in the Compeer Program to meet and befriend Summer Festival fellows.
Serve as welcome ambassadors at the Summer Festival.
Assist with the Sing! Choral Program in local schools.

The annual membership fee is $250 ($25 for member dues, $225 charitable contribution to support Music Academy programs including auxiliary fellow scholarships, Sing! Choral Program, and Community Access tickets), payable in January 2021.
