One person was taken to the hospital on Friday following a collision on Montecito Street in Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

The crash involving three vehicles occurred shortly after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Rancheria Street, fire Battalion Chief Cory Cloud told Noozhawk.

A compact SUV was westbound on Montecito Street when it rear-ended a pickup truck, Cloud said.

The SUV driver was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Their name and details on their condition were not available.

No other injuries were reported.

The SUV’s engine compartment caught fire after the collision, Cloud said, but was quickly extinguished by emergency personnel.

A third vehicle sustained minor damage in the crash, which was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
