Casa Dorinda in Montecito will honor more than 40 scholarship recipients and present $217,500 in awards at its annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony, 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 in the community’s auditorium.
Every year Casa Dorinda residents raise funds for scholarships for staff members and their families.
“Since its establishment in 1997, the Casa Dorinda Scholarship Fund, in partnership with the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, has been a beacon of hope for staff members and their families,” Casa Dorinda officials said.
“Together, nearly 880 scholarships have been awarded, totaling an impressive $2.3 million to students, enabling them to pursue their educational dreams,” they said.
The Casa Dorinda Scholarship Fund resident committee is committed to supporting and encouraging Casa Dorinda staff and their families to apply for educational and vocational scholarships.
“This dedication is a testament to the residents’ belief in the power of education and their support of all Casa Dorinda staff members, whom they consider family,” officials said.
Casa Dorinda is a private LifeCare Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) community on the historic Bliss estate in Montecito. It is owned and operated by the Montecito Retirement Association, a nonsectarian, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.
