The Allan Hancock College Foundation has received a $45,000 donation from CoastHills Credit Union to support a variety of college programs, scholarships and student engagement initiatives throughout 2025.

The contribution represents the continuation of a nearly 30-year partnership between CoastHills and the college and strengthens their shared commitment to supporting education and community growth across northern Santa Barbara County, the foundation said.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support and trust CoastHills has shown in Hancock and our students,” said Jon Hooten, executive director of college advancement and the Allan Hancock College Foundation.

“Their investment reaches every corner of our campus and helps us build a stronger, more connected community,” Hooten said.

The 2025 donation will help fund programs and events such as the annual Hancock Honors gala, graduation ceremonies for Hancock’s public safety academies, college athletics sponsorships, student scholarships, and support for Hancock’s mental health awareness student club.

Since the start of the partnership in 1996, CoastHills Credit Union has contributed more than $330,000 to the Allan Hancock College Foundation. The money has impacted thousands of students and helped ensure a supportive, inclusive and opportunity-rich college experience.

“Supporting Allan Hancock College means investing in the future of our community,” said James Ledford, CoastHills interim CEO.

“We’re honored to partner with an organization that brings greater opportunity to the Central Coast and proud to help more students pursue higher education,” Ledford said.

CoastHills is a not-for-profit Credit Union serving some 79,000 members. Founded on Vandenberg Air Force Base in 1958, CoastHills Credit Union operates 11 Central Coast branches and a locally staffed full-service call center.

The Allan Hancock College Foundation has been a resource for thousands of Allan Hancock College students since 1977, raising funds for scholarships, programs, projects and faculty and staff development.
