The Anacapa School celebrated the graduation of four seniors, each with honors, at the Chase Palm Park Center on June 12.

Kayla Black, Anne Burdette, Briza Espinoza, and Rocelia Rodriguez each graduated with at least magna cum laude honors (cumulative GPA above 3.50). Three of the four have attended Anacapa since seventh-grade year.

The graduates were each presented by their respective faculty advisors and, according to Anacapa tradition, delivered a speech in front of the crowd of family and friends.

Head of school Dylan Minor gave the commencement address, offering words of advice and wisdom:

“Life can be best navigated with a set of principles,” Minor said. “Your first homework assignment as a high school graduate is to determine which principles you’d like to follow.”

Each graduate will be attending a four-year university, representing Anacapa School at: Cal Poly, California State Northridge, UCSB, and University of Vermont.

Anacapa School is an independent school for grades 7-12 in Santa Barbara.
