Crane Country Day School will opens its campus to the community for the annual Crane Country Fair, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1795 San Leandro Lane, Montecito.

For 30 years, the independent K-8 school community event has offered fun and games for all ages, including sports inflatables, classic cupcake walk, sack races, sponge toss, face painting, and arts and crafts, organizers said. The duck pond and a petting zoo are especially geared to young visitors.

Admission to the Crane Country Fair is free, but tickets or wristbands are required to participate in games and activities.

The fair is powered by Families for Crane, the school’s parent organization, whose members manage the activity and food booths with support from returning Crane alumni.

Featured food and refreshment options include Big Daddy’s BBQ serving hotdogs and hamburgers; The Healthy Hut, offering fresh selections from 30 Acres; treats and drinks Kona Ice snow cones, freshly squeezed lemonade, popcorn, pretzels, hot and cold brew from Rincon Coffee, and iced espresso drinks from Seoul Mate Kitchen.

Fairgoers can also visit the Country Kitchen & Market for home-baked goods, such as pumpkin bread, mini pies, jams, and decorated cakes, fresh produce, succulent arrangements, and handmade items.

Demonstrating Crane Country Day School values “Cultivate Kindness” and “Put We Before Me,” middle school students in the service learning ShelterBox Club will share information about ShelterBox and how to help others through emergency disaster relief, organizers said.

Fair sponsors include Canterbury Consulting, EK&A Village Properties, Etiquette Modern, Foxwell Digital, Gray Malin, Jake & Jones, Montecito Plastic Surgery, MOXI, Schwan Bros., and Sol Wave Water.
