Lobero LIVE will host Mat Kearney – Headlights Home Tour, with special guest Darren Kiely, 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara.
Kearney, a multi-platinum songwriter/producer whose compositions often find him blending pop, CCM, hip-hop, and folk traditions, has released five albums in the Billboard Top 200, with three in the Top 20.
His songs have been played on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “30 Rock” “NCIS.” Overall, he has some 2.5 billion global streams.
Kearney’s touring history includes treks with John Mayer, Sheryl Crow and NEEDTOBREATHE. He has also performed on major late-night talk shows.
In 2021 he released his sixth full-length “January Flower,” a collection of honest, stripped-down songs that brings the Nashville-based, Oregon-born musician back to his singer-songwriter roots.
He returned in 2024 with the “Mat Kearney,” which he co-produced alongside Micah Tawlks and Marc Scibilia. The album featured collaborations with Nashville’s the Brook and the Bluff and showcased the singles “Headlights Home,” “Palisades,” and “Good Thing Going.”
Soulful Irish singer/songwriter Kiely, who opens the show, offers folk-infused pop sound originates from his inherited love of traditional Irish music, intertwined with modern influences.
After winning numerous honors nationally in Irish traditional music, Kiely went to New York City in 2022 to continue developing his own music and sound, then headed to the songwriting hub of Nashville.
Kiely’s presentation, which echoes the backdrop of the Irish countryside where he was raised, is the forefront of his debut “EP, Lost,” which was released last fall.
