Each week the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table recognizes athletes of the week for area high schools.
Week Ending Oct. 11
- Mia Jansen, Lompoc High School girls tennis — Jansen, a senior, won the singles championship, and she and partner Jasmine Sanchez won the doubles title at last weekend’s Firebaugh Tournament at Firebaugh High School in Fresno County. Jansen is 41-1 on the year.
- Nick Matautia, Righetti High School football — Matautia, a senior quarterback, completed 10 of 15 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns as Righetti beat San Luis Obispo 31-21 in the Warriors’ Sunset League opener on Oct. 10. He did not throw an interception in the game.
