Providence School has appointed Caroline Corazza as interim head of school, effective Feb. 1.

Corazza has served the Providence community for nearly nine years in a variety of leadership roles and most recently as associate head of school. She succeeds Soo Chang, who concluded his six-year tenure as head of school at the end of January.
During Chang’s tenure, Providence experienced continued growth and achieved significant milestones, including securing the school’s first permanent property in Santa Barbara.
Widely respected within the Providence community, Corazza brings deep institutional knowledge, a strong commitment to the school’s mission, and a steady, collaborative leadership style. School leadership expressed confidence in her ability to guide Providence with clarity and care as the school continues to serve students and families.
Reflecting on her new role, Corazza shared, “Through Providence, my family and I have built a community of friends and colleagues we deeply value. We have invested in this school with our time, talent, and resources, and we are fully committed to Providence’s mission and future.”
She added, “I am grateful to work alongside the board, a strong leadership team, and dedicated teachers as we continue building on the foundation already in place and serving our students with excellence.”
Corazza also serves as chair of Providence’s Coming Home Capital Campaign, a $24 million initiative to establish a permanent campus for grades 7–12 in downtown Santa Barbara.
“As we look ahead, we remain focused on developing our team and continuing to strengthen the places where transformational, Christ-centered education happens,” Corazza said.
Drawing on more than 60 years of service to the Santa Barbara community, Providence School commits to prepare students for lives of purpose, grounded in academic excellence, character development, and God’s unchanging truth. Providence is a private, Christian, college-preparatory school serving almost 400 students from preschool through grade 12. Providence School is known for academic rigor, individualized instruction, integration of technology within a liberal arts curriculum, and specialized high school academies in engineering, performing arts, and fine arts.
