The Granada Theatre has announced the 5th Annual Granada Theatre Legends Gala will be held Friday, Sept. 13. This signature event features inspiring honorees, extraordinary talent, and dedicated patrons of the arts joining to support Santa Barbara’s performing arts community.

The Legends Gala honors individuals and organizations that have had a significant impact on the performing arts. This year, The Granada Theatre will honor Legends Carol Burnett, Dan and Meg Burnham, and Opera Santa Barbara.

The event celebrates the region’s rich culture of arts and philanthropy with a rare dinner on the stage of The Granada Theatre, dazzling entertainment from many of the theater’s talented resident companies, and an awards ceremony that pays tribute to the egends.

The 2019 Legends Gala is chaired by Merryl Snow Zegar and Anne Smith Towbes, and supported by a committee including Jan Bowlus, Meg Burnham, Annette Caleel, Bobbi Didier, Mary Tonetti Dorra, Melody DuPrau, Brooks Firestone, Audrey Hillman Fisher.

Also, Marc Gelias, Erin Graffy, Roberta Griffin, Susan Gulbransen, Diedre Hade, Irma Jurkowitz, Gretchen Lieff, Rosemary Mutton, Leanne Schlinger, Anne Sides, Carol Wilburn and Joann Younger.

The Granada Theatre has played a vital role in developing Santa Barbara’s music and performing arts landscape for some 90 years.

All proceeds from the Legends Gala will help to ensure this state-of-the-art venue continues to engage the community through diverse live performances and programming.

In addition, funds raised from the gala will assist the organization in its effort to provide best-practices business and marketing support services for The Granada Theatre’s eight resident companies and its Historic Theatre District partners.
