Some folks just seem to have a certain grace about them as they go through life. Whether it’s superficial or deeply entrenched in their being cannot always be easily assessed.

I’m not referring to the typical grace displayed by an accomplished ballerina or other professional who has honed their specialized skills to near perfection.

What I’m attempting to describe is a certain presence that catches the eye of those who long for such grace in their lives.

What I believe we are witnessing is an inner peace and confidence that exudes from those who are full of grace. The challenges of life we all face seem inconsequential to those who are blessed with this attribute.

Let me share my thoughts on how we can reach a graceful existence.

It’s been nearly 2,000 years since Christ Jesus was cruelly crucified. He claimed to be God incarnate. He died a vicarious death on a Roman cross.

According to Scripture, he died, was buried, and rose from the dead. Then He walked this earth for 40 days and was witnessed by more than 500 people. And then He ascended into the clouds.

That was the beginning of what Christianity calls “the age of grace.” Searching through God’s Word will demonstrate the grace of God in the lives of countless souls in the early church.

Listen to Luke’s description of a young man named Stephen in Acts 6:8:

“Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.”

I challenge you to read all 60 verses of Acts 7. You will hopefully see God’s grace at work in the short life of this man of God.

As I see it, true grace can only come by the Holy Spirit. The Day of Pentecost, which followed 50 days after Christ Jesus’ resurrection, opened the door for unabashed grace to enter into the souls of those who were in that upper room.

And the miraculous conversion of at least 5,000 after the Apostle Peter spoke to the masses was the launching pad for what we know as “the age of grace.”

In Acts 1:8 we are instructed, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

And since that eventful day we have been experiencing the Holy Spirit at work in the lives of millions upon millions who have been called by God to faithfully follow Him.

Perhaps He’s calling you today! If so, don’t hesitate to answer His call to serve our Risen Lord.
